The Back to You™Guide.

Five gentle invitations to pause, reflect and reconnect with yourself.

Welcome.

Perhaps you've spent a long time being the person others rely on.

The one who keeps things moving.

The one who remembers, organises, supports and carries on.

And perhaps, somewhere along the way, you've become a little further away from yourself.

Not because anything was necessarily wrong. Life simply became busy. Responsibilities grew. Other people needed you. And little by little, your own needs may have slipped further down the list.

This guide isn't here to tell you what to do.

  • It's simply an invitation to pause

  • To notice

  • To listen

  • And perhaps to remember a little more of what matters to you

You don't need to complete everything at once. Take your time. There are no right answers. Just yours.

And remember - you matter too. ♡

Invitation One: Pause.

We're often encouraged to keep going.

  • Keep busy

  • Keep achieving

  • Keep everything together

But sometimes clarity doesn't come from doing more. It comes when we create enough space to hear ourselves again.

So, before you think about what you should do next, ask yourself:

What do I need today?

It might be something practical.

  • Rest

  • Fresh air

  • Time alone

  • A proper meal

  • A conversation

  • A boundary

Or perhaps something you've been putting off giving yourself permission to have. Don't judge the answer. Just notice it.

A Moment for You:

Today, I need………..

Invitation Two: Listen.

What is your inner voice trying to tell you?

We all have thoughts that become so familiar we stop questioning them.

  • I should be coping better

  • I don't want to let anyone down

  • I'll deal with myself later

  • I'm not good enough

  • I should be doing more

But a thought isn't necessarily a fact. Sometimes it's simply a belief we've carried for a very long time.

Instead of asking: What's wrong with me?

Try asking: Where did this belief come from?

You don't need to solve it. Just become curious.

A Moment for You:

A belief I would like to question is………

What might be a kinder, more supportive way of seeing this?

Invitation Three: Notice.

Listen to what your body may be asking for.

Our bodies can sometimes give us clues before our minds catch up.

  • Tension

  • Tiredness

  • Restlessness

  • The feeling of being constantly switched on

Sometimes we respond by pushing harder.

Perhaps instead, we could pause and listen.

Ask yourself: What might I need right now?

  • Maybe it's rest

  • Maybe it's movement

  • Maybe it's nourishment

  • Maybe it's a boundary

  • Maybe it's simply a slower pace

There is nothing to fix here. Just something to notice.

One small thing I could give myself is.……………

Invitation Four: Rediscover.

Remember the things that make you feel like you.

Who are you beyond your job?

Beyond being a partner, parent, daughter, friend or colleague?

Beyond the things you're responsible for?

There may be parts of you that have become quieter over the years.

  • A hobby

  • A dream

  • A place

  • A creative part of you

  • Something you used to love doing simply because it made you happy

It may not be gone. It may simply have been waiting for your attention.

What makes you feel most like yourself?

Think back. What did you love before life became so busy?

Something I'd love to bring back into my life is…………...

It makes me feel.………….

Invitation Five: Choose.

One small choice can begin something.

Choosing yourself doesn't have to mean making a huge change. Sometimes it looks like:

  • Saying no

  • Asking for help

  • Leaving something until tomorrow

  • Making time for something you enjoy

  • Having the conversation you've been avoiding

  • Or simply deciding that your own needs deserve a place in your life too

You don't need to change everything. You only need to choose one small thing.

A moment for you.

What is one choice I can make for myself this week?

And what would it mean to keep that promise to myself?

Before You Go.

Perhaps these five invitations have helped you notice something. Perhaps they've raised a question, reminded you of something you'd forgotten, or perhaps you've simply enjoyed having a few quiet moments to yourself.

Whatever you've discovered, don't feel you need to have all the answers. Reconnection rarely happens in one big moment. It happens gradually.

  • In the small choices we make

  • The moments when we listen instead of ignore

  • The boundaries we allow ourselves to have

  • The things we make space for

  • The parts of ourselves we welcome back

You haven't lost yourself. You may simply have lost connection with yourself. And that connection can be found again.

  • One pause

  • One choice

  • One conversation

  • One gentle step at a time
