Finding my way back to myself.

And how that journey became Back to You™.

Hi, I'm Sam.

I'm the founder of Back to You™, and I'm so glad you're here.

For over 25 years, I've worked across wellbeing, luxury hospitality and holistic practices, creating experiences that help people feel cared for, supported and able to thrive.

But Back to You™ wasn't created because of my career alone.

It was born from my own journey of learning what it truly means to reconnect with myself.

Because, like so many women, there was a time when I had become so focused on supporting others that I had quietly lost connection with myself.

Back to You™ is the story of finding my way back.

It wasn’t always this way.

For much of my life, I was the person everyone relied on, whether in my career, relationships or friendships.

Supporting others came naturally to me, but somewhere along the way, I quietly lost sight of myself.

It happened gradually - putting other people's needs first, ignoring my own dreams and convincing myself that looking after myself could wait.

From the outside, everything looked fine. Inside, it was a very different story.

When everything changed.

Being diagnosed with Stage 4 endometriosis changed my life in ways I never expected.

It brought chronic pain, a hysterectomy and the heartbreaking realisation that I would not have children of my own.

For a long time, I responded in the only way I knew how - by pushing through and carrying on.

Until my body simply wouldn't allow me to continue in the same way.

My recovery gave me something I hadn't experienced for a very long time.

Space. Space to pause, to grieve, to reflect.

For the first time, I began asking myself questions I had never truly made time for.

How did I really feel? What did I want? What actually mattered to me?

I began to understand the beliefs and patterns that had influenced so many of my choices - including the belief that everyone else came first and my own needs could always wait.

As those beliefs began to shift, so did my life. Not because I became someone different, but because I slowly found my way back to the person I had always been underneath it all.

Looking back now, I can see that this journey became the foundation for everything Back to You™ stands for today.

Coming home - full circle.

After many years living overseas and working in London, life brought me back home to Yorkshire.

Returning here has felt like coming full circle.

Back to familiar landscapes.
Back to a slower pace.
Back to a place that reminds me of what truly matters.

Today, I'm grateful to call Otley home and to be creating the kind of experiences I once needed myself.

That is why I created Back to You™ - to create meaningful experiences that help people pause, reconnect and remember what matters most.

The Experience Behind Back to You™.

Long before Back to You™ existed, I was already creating experiences that helped people feel cared for and supported.

My career has taken me from leadership and recruitment into luxury wellbeing, including more than 15 years working in five-star spas across London and overseas as a therapist, trainer and spa manager.

I've worked alongside exceptional practitioners and clients from around the world, and those experiences taught me that wellbeing is about more than what happens within a session.

It's also about the environment, the details, the way people are welcomed and the experience they take away with them.

Today, I bring together my experience across wellbeing, hospitality, coaching and holistic approaches to create thoughtful, meaningful experiences for the people and places I work with.

A lifetime of learning.

I don't believe one approach holds all the answers.

Over the years, I've continued to develop my knowledge through professional training in coaching, hypnotherapy, NLP, mindfulness, psychology and a range of holistic wellbeing approaches.

These experiences, together with my own journey, have shaped the Back to You™ Method - a personalised approach rather than a one-size-fits-all formula.

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, I draw upon the approaches that are most appropriate for each individual, creating a personalised experience through the Back to You™ Method.

A few things about me.

Sam Richardson smiling outdoors wearing sunglasses.
  • I’m happiest outdoors. Whether it’s walking through the woods, spending time by the coast or sitting in the garden with a coffee, nature is where I feel most connected, grounded and inspired.

  • I’m definitely the person who will stop to say hello to a dog before I notice its owner! Thankfully, they usually don’t seem to mind.

  • I was born in Wales, grew up in Yorkshire and, after many years living overseas and working in London, life has brought me full circle and happily back home again.

  • Travel has been one of my greatest teachers. It has introduced me to incredible cultures, inspiring people and different approaches to wellbeing that continue to shape the way I work and live.

  • I’ve always been fascinated by the connection between our thoughts, emotions, beliefs and overall wellbeing - and how these influence the way we experience ourselves and the world around us.

  • Despite the deeper topics I often work with, I have a great sense of humour and believe laughter, connection and not taking ourselves too seriously are all important parts of wellbeing.

The people I’ve had the privilege to support.

Every person arrives with their own story.

Over the years, I've been honoured to support women through moments of change, uncertainty, self-discovery and growth.

Their journeys are a reminder that sometimes we simply need the space, support and guidance to reconnect with ourselves again.

If there's one thing my journey has taught me, it's this…

You don't need to become someone new - you simply need to find your way back to yourself.

Today, through Back to You™, I create meaningful wellbeing experiences for individuals, groups, communities and organisations. Every experience is different, but the intention is always the same:

To create space to pause, reconnect and remember what truly matters.

If my story has resonated with you, I'd love to hear yours.
